Orangutans

We were lucky enough to go to an Orangutan rehabilitation centre in Sepilok on the east coast of Borneo. It tries to put Orangutans back into the wild.

The main drawcard here is that in order to wean the Orangutans off human contact they still need to put food out for some of them that have recently been put back into the jungle. This way we get to see some of the Orangutans as they swing in from the edge of the jungle to say hello and have a banana or two.

These guys have such expressive faces. The mother and baby were very cute too.

This cheeky monkey came around the headquarters looking to steal an orangutan or human lunch.
