Lama Temple

We went to Lama Temple which was right next to our hostel. It had lots of big Buddhas and praying Chinese people.

All the religious people praying fervently to a god mixed together with tourists snapping away like some kind of religious oxymoron. Not sure if it was heresy, but the result was more bizarre than watching either one or the other do their thing alone.

We were firmly in the tourist camp, not knowing anything about Buddhism, and probably maligning someone's channeled energy with our clashing ensemble or shoes that weren't pointy enough. But religious things make for great pictures.

One tip to Buddhism though is that, on the face of it, it sounds a whole lot saner than the Catholic fantasies I was taught. Their fantasies sound nicer and seem more inclusive than the Catholic Club.
