It is hard to describe just how amazing this trip is. But it just got a whole lot better. Last night I asked Nicci to marry me. She said 'Yes!' Yay-o
After a meal in a nearby ger-tent come restaurant, I plopped an alarm clock down on the table and told Nic not to return to our ger until fifteen minutes had passed. She was suspicious, but couldn't work out what was happening, looking towards the kitchen to see if a cake would arrive or something similar. I headed off and started implementing my plan...
(Nic continues the story...)
I came back to the tent to find it filled with tea light candles in every available space.
"How long have we been looking after each other?" he asked. I stammered an answer, still trying to comprehend the situation. Mark was still acting odd, sitting on the floor surrounded by candles.
After making a little speech he proposed with a lovely ring and before I'd even accepted, I had taken the ring from the box and placed it naturally onto my ring finger! Mark was still looking anxious waiting for a response.
I said... 'Yes! Of course!' and with that we were engaged.
Mark had been lugging a bottle of bubbly, 2 champagne flutes, candles and the proposal ring since we left London!!.. (He told me it was a box of UK treats to open when we got REALLY homesick so I wasn't allowed to look)
Needless to say, we are over the moon!!
